BIO
Jim Alfredson has performed with major jazz artists like Bob James, David Sanborn, Randy Brecker, Eric Marienthal, James Carter, Dr. Lonnie Smith, Fareed Haque, and drummer Harvey Mason. Other credits include high profile blues acts Taj Mahal, Buddy Guy, The Holmes Brothers, and Grammy-nominated singer Janiva Magness. Jim is currently the keyboardist of choice for several internationally touring acts, including Ms. Magness, bluesman Larry McCray, Detroit’s Queen of Blues Thornetta Davis, and Big Apple Blues. Jim also fronts the Michigan based regional Pink Floyd tribute band Echoes of Pink Floyd and was the keyboard understudy for the international Pink Floyd tribute act Brit Floyd.
Known for his Hammond organ work across genres, Jim is also an in-demand session player, most recently recording with jazz trombonist and two-time Grammy winner Michael Dease. He has recorded with his own bands as well, receiving popular and critical acclaim, including seven albums with his soul-jazz trio organissimo and two albums with the keys-driven progressive rock group THEO.
